Tanks
were completed 8 weeks after receipt of order, allowing for design and
manufacture of all tanks.
COMMENTS
The tanks
were inspected by a number of engineers and specialists in the field,
and the following comments were received:
- Third party inspection authority: congratulated the factory personnel
on the high quality of the tanks, notwithstanding the pressure on
manufacture throughout the project.
- The American client confirmed that the quality was far better than
they recently experienced in Brazil and which they normally obtain
in the USA.
- Numerous fibreglass experts commented on the excellent finish obtained,
which confirmed the quality of the workmanship of the fibreglass team
employed.
Other
contracts completed
Famsystems has
completed numerous contracts, supplying fibreglass tanks to every section
of the South African industry as well as a number of export projects.
Because of the special chemical expertise of the Famsystems technical
management, these contracts include some special chemical applications,
where special resins are used to solve specific problems.
All of these are manufactured in the 1500 square metre facility in Gauteng.
Often special liners are used to ensure that the corrosive properties
of the solution can be handled.
Examples of the tanks produced are:
- PVC lined tanks
for concentrated sulphuric acid, sodium hypochlorite and other chlorine
solutions
- PP lined tanks
for tanks where both alkaline and acidic conditions are present such
as scrubbers, effluent tanks etc
- PVDF lined tanks
for more difficult chemicals or higher temperature applications.
- Fibreglass quenches
operating at over 200 deg C using special resins
- All resins are
used.
